East Anglia Hotel Guide

The Norfolk Broads are unique and still a popular venue for those who love to get away from the bustle. The county is also home to a number of interesting towns and villages, including Kings Lynn where the royal residence of Sandringham is sited. On the coast are the popular resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth, whilst inland is the attractive old city of Norwich with its castle and cathedral.
Cambridgeshire is the county of fens and Ely was one an island in the fens, its towering cathedral visible for miles across the flat, watery countryside. These days it is an attractive riverside town with many interesting old buildings. The jewel of the county is Cambridge itself with its wonderful college buildings and open green spaces. The backs of the colleges along the River Cam are truly beautiful as are the willows that weep over the river between the attractive bridges.
Perhaps Suffolk is the true heart of olde England. There must be more thatches and lath and plaster buildings here than anywhere else in the country. The wonderful villages of Clare, Lavenham, Bildeston and Debenham are among the most beautiful in Britain. The town of Bury St Edmunds has attractive shops, restaurants and lovely gardens. Along the coast is the unspoilt resort of Aldeburgh and Felixstowe is known as the garden resort of the east coast. Larger towns such as Ipswich have much to offer and there's always the racing at Newmarket.
