Recent refurbishments have created luxurious surroundings, but the atmosphere is always homely and relaxed. The Rowers' decor is nautical, to reflect its riverside traditions and oak panelling throughout the hotel adds a warm traditional look. Every bedroom has en-suite bathroom facilities, radio and television, hairdryers and direct dial telephones. All of the bedrooms are decorated like ships cabins and are named after famous liners built on the River Tyne. The bathrooms have all been renewed with classic roll top baths with all the elegance and comfort of a bygone age. The oak panelled dining has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. With seating for up to 40, it is open to residents and non- residents alike. A wide choice for diners from the a la carte menu, we have recently been given an rac dining award. Please note, however, that on a Sunday evening, the bar and restaurant are not available, but both are open for Sunday lunch. The comfortable lounge has a welcoming open fire in the winter and a pleasant, sunny conservatory to sit in during the summer months, which overlooks the garden.
